Support with Energy Bills

We have all seen energy bills increase dramatically in the last year. There are several initiatives that you may be able to access to get help:

  • If you are struggling, speak to your utility provider in the first instance, as they may have grants and funding available to reduce debt, or be able to advise you about cheaper tariffs
  • Act on Energy can advise you about reducing bills and help you to solve any problems with utility providers, call them on 0800 988 2881. You may be able to apply for a grant from the Worcestershire Household Support Fund.

Government support with energy bills- Energy bills support scheme

This winter (2023-2024) the Government have introduced An Energy Bills Discount Scheme, EBDS, which will apply a discount to wholesale energy prices if they reach a defined threshold.

If you are struggling with Energy Bills there are various ways that you may be entitled to vouchers to help you. Your local Citizens advice will be able to help you from the Household Support fund, so contact them on 0808 278 7891.

You may also be able to get help with Current use costs and with energy debt from the household support fund that is managed through Act on Energy. See their website for more information and to make a claim or call them for guidance on 0800 988 2881.

Community Housing Wellbeing Fund

Maximise your Income

It is important to get a Benefits Check from a trusted and experienced Welfare Benefits advisor on a regular basis.

For many of the Cost of Living crisis payments, you need to claiming certain benefits, so if you are missing out on income from benefits you may also be missing out on extra payments.

The Tenancy Sustainability team are all experienced advisors, and they will advise, guide and support you with claims benefit claims.
