19,000 will be reassured by accreditation

TSA logoWorcestershire TeleCare (WTC) is delighted to have achieved Platinum Members status under the Telecare Services Association’s Code of Practice accreditation scheme.

WTC’s telecare service is the first in the UK to be assessed against the TSA’s new Integrated Code of Practice for Telecare and Telehealth Services which was introduced in May 2013.

To become a Platinum Member, WTC had to demonstrate compliance with  every module of the Code or Practice for the services it provides, be compliant with the European Technical Specification and answer at least 98.5% of calls within 60 seconds.

Robert Redman, Head of Worcestershire TeleCare said “We are so proud of this achievement.  As a team, we work extremely hard to make sure our customers and service users receive a reliable, professional and quality service.  We understand how important it is for service users to feel safe in their own home and retain their independence.  Being recognised as a Platinum Member means that they and their families and carers can have complete confidence in our service and know that when they need us, we will be there for them”

WTC is a growing organisation with over 19,000 telecare service users across the UK and it is committed to remaining at the forefront of telecare service provision.

In addition, WTC’s Lone Worker  Monitoring & Locator Service known as Solomon is providing new ways to support organisations with staff who work in remote locations or in potentially vulnerable situations. The service utilises the latest in GPS locator  technology and gives lone workers confidence that in the event of an emergency situation arising, their whereabouts can be established in seconds and immediate assistance provided.

A Safe Walking service is also to be launched by WTC shortly which will provide support to people with dementia and their carers. The Safe Walking service also uses GPS   technology and will enable emergency situations to be responded to immediately including rapid location of the service user providing reassurance to them and their carers. It can also be used as a mobile alarm device for anyone who may be vulnerable whilst walking alone.
