Digital Champions offer Support

All five of our volunteers are attending the training courses and working closely with the tutors from HOW College to offer support on a 121 basis for those students that may need that little bit of extra assistance. This can quite often due to learning disabilities or physical/mental health issues.  Our volunteers are proving to be invaluable to the work that we are doing and we are so proud of all of them, and very much appreciate all of the hard work and time that they dedicate to help others achieve their goals. Thank you!

Data Protection

All of our volunteers now hold an up-to-date Certificate of Achievement in ‘The Essentials of GDPR’. We provided this training for our champions via Virtual College as they work very closely with our tenants and the information has proved to be very useful when helping tenants to register on MYaccount. This is a facility which can be accessed via our website that enables tenants to access and pay their rent account, report repairs, manage their tenancy and contact us 24 hours a day – visit www.communityhg.com

Digital Drop-in Sessions

Following on from the training courses provided within the community, we identified a need for regular support and information sharing. Working with the volunteers and the other groups, we have set up regular computer drop-in sessions which are solely run by our volunteers which offer technical support with phones, laptops and tablets etc. These support sessions are every two weeks for two hours and have proved to be extremely successful. We are currently working on doing a recruitment drive to take on more volunteers to cope with the demand.
