In a joint working partnership with Wyre Forest District Council, Wyre Forest Community Housing's Neighbourhood Wardens have now completed their training so they can issue fixed penalty notices for dog fouling and litter dropping as do the Council's Civil Enforcement Officers.
Wyre Forest District Council has co-ordinated the training programme which is designed to make a positive difference in the community.
Councillor Julian Phillips, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Place Shaping said: "This new enlarged and strengthened community enforcement team will provide more "eyes and ears "on the streets with the ultimate aim of making the community a better place to live and work. These new powers for the neighbourhood wardens mean they have more tools at their disposal to use in problem areas."
Yvonne Leishman, Managing Director of Wyre Forest Community Housing (part of The Community Housing Group) said: “We recognise the importance of living in a clean and safe environment and our Neighbourhood Warden Team work extremely hard with local residents to tackle anti-social problems of litter, fly tipping and irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their pets. We are very pleased to be part of this new partnership and are confident that we will see some positive changes taking place in communities across the district.”
