On Tuesday 14 January, representatives from Community Housing attended the Next Steps Careers Fair at Stourport High School. This important event brought together students and professionals to explore future career possibilities and opportunities.
Engaging with the Next Generation
The careers fair, held in the LQ Arena at Stourport High School, was attended by students from Year 7 to Year 12. The event offered a chance for young people to learn about various career paths and speak directly with industry experts and employers.
Representing Community Housing were Oliver Rimell, Organisational Development Tutor; Rhys George, Apprentice Electrician and Sophie Guise, Apprentice Plasterer. They spent the day interacting with students, answering questions and sharing their personal experiences of working and learning within the organisation.
Showcasing Opportunities at Community Housing
The event provided a fantastic platform to highlight Community Housing’s Apprenticeship Programme and other career opportunities. By showcasing real-life examples of career development within the organisation, students were able to gain a better understanding of the skills and training available to them.
Oliver Rimell commented: "It was wonderful to meet so many enthusiastic students and show them what a career in social housing can offer. Events like these are vital for inspiring the next generation."
A Positive Experience for All
The day was a success, with both students and exhibitors leaving inspired and informed. For Community Housing, the event was an opportunity to build connections with the local community and demonstrate its commitment to investing in young talent.
By attending events like the Next Steps Careers Fair, Community Housing continues to support young people in taking their first steps towards fulfilling and rewarding careers.
