New Affordable Homes for Wribbenhall, Bewdley gets the Go Ahead

Building will go ahead on the former school site at Wribbenhall, Bewdley following approval of funding for this major development of affordable homes for rent and sale.

The 'Homes and Communities Agency' (HCA) has confirmed that a grant of almost £2.4m has been awarded which will enable this development of 46 houses and flats to go ahead. The total scheme cost is £4.5m and is being built by 'Wyre Forest Community Housing Ltd'. The development will consist of 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed homes and will be constructed by 'Kier Partnership Homes'.

Wyre Forest Community Housing's Managing Director, Yvonne Leishman, said "This is great news. We are delighted that the HCA has been able to support and fund these much needed homes within the local market town of Bewdley. We will be providing 46 affordable homes of which 35 will be rent and 11 will be for shared ownership, aimed at helping first time buyers on lower incomes to move into home ownership".

Paul Spooner, Regional Director for the HCA West Midlands added "The HCA is committed to investing in local communities and providing people with access to good quality affordable homes. We are delighted that our investment has enabled Wyre Forest Community Housing in partnership with Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire County Council to deliver these much needed homes in Bewdley".
