Residents, community groups and local organisations recently came together at the Jelleyman Community Café in Puxton Lane, Kidderminster for a successful Seed Swap event celebrating gardening, nature and community spirit.

The event gave people the chance to share seeds, plants and gardening tips, while also learning more about growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers at home. It was a great way for people of all ages to meet others in the local area and swap ideas and advice.

There was plenty going on throughout the day, including planting activities for children, helping younger visitors get involved and learn more about nature and gardening in a fun way.

Guests also enjoyed homemade soup and cake served by the Jelleyman Community Café team, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who attended.

Representatives from several local organisations were there to support the event, including local councillor Vicky Corfield, the Green Alliance and the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.

Gill and Lisa from Customer and Community Engagement team also attended on behalf of Community Housing to promote our involvement in the Incredible Edible project, which encourages communities to grow food together and make local areas greener and more welcoming.

The event was a lovely example of how bringing people together can help build stronger communities while encouraging healthier and greener lifestyles.
