Pride Month At Community Housing

Last week, our CHPride colleague network hosted its Pride event, bringing colleagues together to celebrate and show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

We were delighted to welcome one of Community Housing's colleagues, Hope, who shared her lived experience and helped bring important conversations about inclusion, identity and belonging to life.

Together, we explored the history of Pride and the significance of the Stonewall Uprising, developed our understanding of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation, and looked at the Gender Unicorn as a tool to support learning and discussion.

We also highlighted Community Housing's commitment to inclusion through the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge and the important role our CHPride colleague network plays in creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong. The session finished with practical ways we can all be better allies by listening, respecting, learning and supporting one another.

After the session, colleagues came together over lunch, using LGBTQ+ conversation cards to continue discussions, share different perspectives and build stronger connections in an informal and welcoming environment.

Creating an inclusive workplace is something we all play a part in, and events like these help us continue learning together.
