Garage improvement works at Avon Road, Harold Evers Way and Plane Tree Close

Image of old garages about to undergo refurbishment

We will shortly be starting improvement works at garage sites at Avon Road, Harold Evers Way and Plane Tree Close, which will include demolishing some of the existing garages and refurbishing others.

Avon Road Garage Site

Following our discussions with local residents, work will shortly begin to demolish the 32 garages at the Avon Road garage site.

The work is currently due to start on 21 September and will continue during September and October.

Once the garages have been demolished, the site will be cleared and a new boundary fence installed. This will help improve security for neighbouring homes and the surrounding area.

We do not intend to permanently close the site during or after the project. However, we will need to restrict access at times while work is taking place. This is to keep residents, contractors and visitors safe.

We understand that the work may cause some temporary inconvenience and will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.

If you are affected by the work and need help moving your wheelie bins ready for collection day, support will be available.

Harold Evers Way and Plane Tree Close

We will also be carrying out improvements to the garage sites at Harold Evers Way and Plane Tree Close.

At Harold Evers Way, a block of five garages will be demolished. At Plane Tree Close, 15 garages across two blocks will be demolished.

Once this work is complete, the space created will provide additional parking opportunities for local residents.

We will also be refurbishing the remaining 15 garages across the two sites, providing improved facilities for existing garage tenants.

Work at Harold Evers Way is currently due to begin in October, with work at Plane Tree Close taking place during October and November. The overall programme is expected to be completed by the end of November.

Access to the sites may need to be restricted at times while the work takes place. We will keep any disruption to a minimum and make sure the sites remain safe while work is underway.
