The Community Housing Group’s Green Action Group are promoting a ‘Switch Off & Save’ awareness campaign to promote Climate Week, 21st – 27th March.
The organisation has put up posters in staff areas to give reminders about turning off equipment and lights, not printing unnecessarily and re-using items that would normally just get thrown away.
Staff were shocked to learn that a lot of the electric consumed in TCHG’s buildings is used overnight and are now helping to reduce this by ensuring PC monitors are turned off at the end of the day.
Climate Week is a national event that highlights the positive steps that workplaces and communities across Britain have already taken, and will hopefully inspire many more to follow their ways.
TCHG are among thousands of business’ that are running events during this week. It shows what can be achieved and encourages everyone to act during the rest of the year, both at home and in the workplace.
