To ensure the welfare of Wyre Forest Community Housing’s (part of The Community Housing Group) older tenants, the Neighbourhood Wardens have been out and about engaging with those who do not have visits from a support service.
Tenants aged 70 years or over, and who do not currently receive Wyre Forest Sheltered Housing’s Support24 service have had the opportunity to discuss any issues, such as problems with the forthcoming digital switchover and home safety, and have received information on other services the organisation can provide.
The ‘Super 70’s’ project has given the Neighbourhood Wardens chance to meet with residents they don’t usually see when they are out and about and ensure they are happy in their home. They have been able to pass on information to them and by asking the tenant to complete a short survey, they have then been able make referrals to Support24 on their behalf and give them crime prevention advice if necessary.
