Vestia Community Trust (VCT) has organised a series of events as part of their 5th anniversary celebrations to look at the opportunities and challenges facing the public and voluntary sectors in meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities with higher needs in Worcestershire.
The opening event took place on the 6th July 2015 at the Hive in Worcester, hosted by Louise Jones, Strategic Director for Health and Wellbeing - University of Worcester and Vestia Board Member.
The main theme of this event was partnership working and VCT showcased some of their work over the last 5 years which highlighted successful partnerships including work with the other principal Worcestershire Housing Providers, Worcestershire County Council, Wyre Forest District Council, Barnardos, the Big Lottery Fund and ContinU Trust.
The event was also used to introduce ‘FUSION’, an emerging Housing Provider led social and economic inclusion consortium. The consortium will build on existing good practice within the Worcestershire Housing Sector to help the most disadvantaged into employment, bidding for European Funding to deliver programmes on behalf of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership.
