Oakleaf House, Finepoint Way is officially open

Official Opening of Oakleaf House

Oakleaf Commercial Services (part of The Community Housing Group) were proud to officially open their new depot at Finepoint Way in Kidderminster with a series of celebratory events. On 10th September 2015, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council, Marcus Hart unveiled a commemorative plaque and over 80 invited guests and partners enjoyed a tour of the new facilities followed by a Value for Money exhibition hosted by Oakleaf Commercial Services Teams, Worcestershire TeleCare and Travis Perkins.

Oakleaf Commercial Services outgoing Chair, Rod Wilson said: “The new depot is a fantastic achievement. Not only does it give us the room to continue to grow the business, it will also provide work experience and job opportunities for local people in the near future. We have set ourselves ambitious year on year growth targets of 10% across the various operating brands and this new building will help us to achieve those targets.”

On 11th September 2015, Oakleaf brought forward their annual Contractors Seminar (usually held in December) so that key partners, suppliers and contractors could also see the new depot and meet the teams who work there. This popular event is a great opportunity for Oakleaf to share their business plan and vision for the year ahead, highlight any changes to legislation or health and safety regulations and receive feedback or suggestions for improvements from contractors.

Oakleaf were particularly keen to introduce two new business areas – Fleet Services for domestic and commercial vehicle repairs and servicing and their PVC-u window and door manufacturing facility where they can provide quality, affordable frames for any size of contract.

Ed Osborn who will take the position of Chair of Oakleaf Commercial Services Board later in September said: “This seminar is a chance to cement working relationships with us and to be part of what is already a great success story for the Company. There will be plenty of opportunities in the years ahead and we will be very pleased to have you with us on such an exciting phase of our development.”

The week concluded with a Family Fun day for Oakleaf Commercial Services staff which included a live band, good food and plenty of entertainment for younger (and not so young!) guests. There were inflatable games and challenges as well as an opportunity to train with Kidderminster Harriers football coaches.

Ian Hancock, Managing Director, Oakleaf Commercial Services said: “This is our way of saying a huge thank you to the teams who have helped us to achieve the successes we have enjoyed so far and who have given us their commitment for the future. Many of our own teams have worked on the construction of the new depot, inside and out, and it is fair to say that their dedication to finishing the project on time and to such a high standard, is more than impressive.”
