Hermitage Way play area now complete

Hermitage Way park, Stourport on Severn

The play area in Hermitage Way, Stourport on Severn, is now open to the public and ready for action following a total refurbishment of the facility.

Situated next to the Walshes Community Centre, the park is a popular play area with local children. Now updated with more modern play equipment, it has enhanced the area making it safer and a more exciting place for children of all ages to play. It also features a new safety surface to replace the bark under the equipment.

The play area project was funded by The Community Housing Group, putting back finances from the Group, along with the support of Oakleaf Commercial Services who completed the works. Following a well-attended, consultation event that was held by the Group last year, local children were asked to vote for their favourite designs. This is one of several parks that have been refurbished by the Group.

Ray Brookes, Group Chief Executive commented: “A facility like this is great for the local community and will encourage children to get active outdoors in the fresh air, providing them with a space where they can safely play.”

The proposed date for the official opening of the play area is scheduled for Friday 3 June. Please check our websites and social media channels for more details, nearer the time.
