The 2012 Olympic Games Torch Relay is coming to Worcestershire! Last week Worcester was announced as an overnight stop on the torch relay route and in November further details will be announced about the route the torch will be travelling. So now is the time to nominate someone to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity!

We’re looking for truly incredible individuals whose personal stories will inspire millions of people watching the Olympic Torch Relay – in their community, across the UK and around the world.

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things. From any walk of life, anywhere in the UK. 

We need you to help us find them.

• Always tries to be the best they can be?
• Makes a real difference in their school or local community?
• Has shown what it means to be a real friend?
• Shows respect for other people and knows the importance of fair play?

Nominating a Torchbearer in 5 easy steps:

1. Read the terms and conditions. These apply to both the person making a nomination and the person being nominated

2. Choose who you want to nominate. Make sure you know what we are looking for.

3. Tell them you are nominating them. Get their correct name, address, email address and contact phone number.

4. Prepare around 150 words explaining why the person you are nominating is so inspirational.

5. Check that emails received from london2012@mail.comms.london2012.com are added to your Safe Sender list. Get your nominee to do the same.

What happens next?

After nominations close at 11.59pm on 29 June 2011, we will create a shortlist of potential Torchbearers through a ballot process. Please note: although you can be nominated more than once, only one nomination per person (selected at random) will be put into the ballot.

The stories of the shortlisted nominees will be put forward to one of 12 judging panels around the UK. The stories will remain anonymous as the judges decide which stories they think have the power to inspire the world.

We will let people know whether or not they've been chosen in December 2011.
