The scheme is open to residents who receive benefits and/or have a low income and do not currently have a Christmas Savings Account with 6Towns.

The aim of the scheme is to encourage people to save regularly, either weekly or monthly, between the 1st April and the 31st July 2017.  If you maintain your payments,  you will receive an additional £25.00 paid into your account. Should you continue to save in the same savings pattern you may be eligible to apply for a loan up to £500.00 subject to terms and conditions.

The scheme is to foster a ‘savings habit’ and to encourage people to borrow from 6Towns Credit Union rather than the high interest rate, of APR of 299% and above from ‘Door-step’ lenders or worse from Illegal Money Lenders such as Loan Sharks.
