A Hotpoint fridge freezer is believed to have been the cause of the Grenfell Tower fire. Concerned owners of the model number FF175BP (white) or FF175BG (grey) have been asked to register their details with the company so they can be contacted with further information.

64,000 of these were made between March 2006 and July 2009, however, there will be a limited number still in use. The company are presently working to investigate into what happened to the appliance. So far, there hasn’t been a product recall so there isn’t a specific reason to stop using the fridge freezer while the investigation continues.

The model number should be on the manual or on a label inside the fridge. You will need the serial number which will also be found in the same place. If you think you have an affected fridge freezer, you can either:-

• Call Freephone hotline 0800 316 3826
• Or, visit the Hotpoint website - www.hotpointservice.co.uk/fridgefreezer

You will be asked for your name, address, email address, mobile number as well as the model and serial number of the fridge.

Another way of registering your appliances for the future, is to visit the Register my Appliance website – www.registermyappliance.org.uk

This ensures that manufacturers are able to contact you if any safety repair is needed. You can register any appliance bought in the last 12 years and update your details if you or your appliances move.
