Disabled Facilities Grants Success

" alt="" class="img-fluid">

Following on from 2017/18, we have again been successful in securing an additional £50,000 funding from Wyre Forest District Council.

This additional funding will be used to assist The Community Housing Group to undertake relevant works to enhance the health and wellbeing of our tenants, future proofing and improving the current housing stock and Group Dwelling Schemes.

In 2017, the funding was spent on works such as replacing obsolete stair lifts, fitting and/or replacing humidity fans and putting in communal footpaths.

This year it is intended that the funding will go towards the cost of fitting automatic doors on all our Group Dwelling Schemes. These are Adams House, Ruth Chamberlain, Neville Court, Drumart House and William Bullock and Hornbeam House. We have also received funding to put automatic doors on Carter Court Flats which is, of course, great news for those tenants who use wheelchairs and walking frames/aids.
