Update on our work in the community

Working with local Community Groups

After working closely with other groups, a number of these have applied to our AIM Fund (Area Improvement Money) to set up their own Cyber Cafés, Computer Drop-In Sessions and Computer Training etc.

By accessing these funds, this has enabled them to go ahead and purchase equipment thus allowing them to offer members of their community regular access to equipment to do research, contact family members abroad via Skype, send and receive emails and lots more. We are so proud of what we have achieved together and we look forward to watching these projects go from strength to strength.

Comments from people who have completed our training course

“This has opened up a whole new world for me and I can now follow the progress and news about my beloved Birmingham City Football Club. Thank you!” - Lee

“I can now feel confident enough to go into the local library and use their computers to research things I wanted to know and I can send emails with confidence. Thank you so much for doing this for me.” - Robert

“I have had a laptop for some time now but was always frightened to use it. I am now using it for all of my online shopping and emailing, and even Skyping friends on the other side of the world. This is brilliant! All it needed was someone to have the patience to show me what to do. Thank you!” -  Susan
