An inter-estate football tournament for youths aged between 9 and 14 years old will be taking place during the schools’ half term break at the end of October.
Wyre Forest Community Housings’ Neighbourhood Wardens have organised the sporting event in conjunction with Wyre Forest District Council, the YMCA and West Mercia Police. The tournament will take place at Habberley Playing Fields next to Baxter College, Kidderminster, on Friday 28th October between 11am and 2:30pm.
The event is in support of Kick It Out’s ‘One Game, One Community’ weeks of action, which will be taking place between 13th and 31st October.
Kick It Out is football's equality and inclusion campaign and works with football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusion and promote positive change.
Throughout the 18-day period, even professional clubs will be making their own contribution by holding matchday events at their dedicated ‘One Game, One Community’ weeks of action fixture, with many teams already confirming the activity they will be undertaking.
Entry for the competition at Habberley Playing Fields is free and there will be the opportunity to win various prizes, including signed photos of professional football players.
