Twelve young people from Aggborough & Spennells joined the Friends of Cobham Wood’s community tidy day on 24 September 2011.

Together with members of Oakleaf Grounds Services (part of The Community Housing Group) and Wyre Forest District Council Rangers, they collected over 20 bags of litter and assorted items such as car tyres and gas bottles from the site.

They also cut down evasive shrubs & ferns to encourage the woodlands bio-diversity.

Keith Thomson, Chair of the Friends of Cobham Wood Group was pleased with the results “The tidy day was a great opportunity to bring local people together to achieve a common goal in keeping the woods clean and tidy”

The group, who are supported by Vestia Community Trust, plan to work with Wyre Forest Community Housing to keep the woods free from rubbish and prevent further fly tipping.
