National Apprenticeship Week - Craig

Craig apprentice from Finance

In support of National Apprenticeship Week, we've been catching up some of our apprentices.

Craig is a Finance Assistant apprentice with The Community Housing Group.

Craig's thoughts on his apprenticeship

"I decided to do an apprenticeship because it is a great entrance to a career in accounting. The apprenticeship route allows you to work towards a qualification, whilst learning on the job and generating an income at the same time.

I have really enjoyed my experience so far. The best part for me has been gaining the experience in a working environment. In addition to this, the quality of teaching I have received from my college course and the training/support I have received from my workplace has been really helpful.

My apprenticeship has helped me progress in my career by working towards my qualifications. I am currently studying for a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and then I am going to move onto the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. Throughout my apprenticeship so far, I have also been able to develop my transferrable skills (e.g. communication, team working, confidence etc) which will benefit me in achieving my career goals."
