A recent report by Policy in Practice identified that pensioners are missing out on £1.7 billion in unclaimed Pension Credit.

Even a small financial claim for an individual could unlock hundreds of pounds in unclaimed social tariffs and passported benefits such as free TV licences, Warm Homes Discounts, Cost of Living payments, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

Pension Credit goes unclaimed for a number of reasons such as stigma, lack of awareness, fragmented support, and administrative complexity. A lot of people simply do not believe they would be eligible for this additional support outside of their pension.
