Our Tenancy Sustainabiltiy, Localities and Income teams teamed together last week for a proactive initiative, for a Bite Back Day in the Horsefair area of Kidderminster.

Together with local police and the Illegal Money Lending team from Stop Loan Sharks, they embarked on a mission to raise awareness about the presence of loan sharks in the area. Taking to the streets, they distributed information leaflets to local properties, aiming to provide assistance and talk about any concerns to people who might encounter or have dealings with loan sharks.

Loan sharks are illegal money lenders who charge very high interest rates and sometimes use threats, often targeting vulnerable people on low incomes who find themselves in difficult times.

To accompany the team, they brought Sid the Shark who certainly gained a lot of attention from passers by. 

The Illegal Money Lending Team works in partnership with Trading Standards services across England to prosecute loan sharks and to support the people and communities that are affected by them.
