Special guests invited to meet the Queen

Jubilee 2012As part of the Queen's regional tour for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Her Majesty will be visiting Worcester on 11th July 2012.

After opening the Hive, the County Council's new library and history centre, the Royal party will move onto Worcester Guildhall, where a reception and lunch will be held with community representatives from across Worcestershire.

Three people that The Community Housing Group and Vestia Community Trust support and work closely with have been invited to attend this special occasion.

Spike Betterton, in recognition of this voluntary work with Friends of St. George's Park community group. Spike has successfully led the group for several years, working closely with Wyre Forest District Council and other partners to make a real difference to the park and the local area.

Robert Lloyd, for his volunteering work on the Walshes Estate in Stourport. Robert has been a key member of various community groups and currently plays a key role in the Walshes Community Hall Action Group. This group is working with Wyre Forest Community Housing (part of The Community Housing Group) to try to establish the Community Hall as a sustainable community facility.

Sarah Rook, Chair of Broadwaters Residents Action Group (BRAG), in recognition for her commitment to improving the neighbourhood and making a real difference to people in the community. BRAG have played a significant role in driving forward the Cleaner Safer Greener project in Sion Hill, and the successful achievement of the Keep Britain Tidy Quality Mark.
