We are delighted to announce the addition of six new members to our Board and Committees. They will play a crucial role in implementing our Corporate Plan which centres on enhancing services and performance for our customers and communities, as well as supporting our colleagues and managing the overall health of our business.
Maddy Dobrin is joining us as a customer member of the Operations Committee. She brings IT experience that will help us in our quest to offer more digital options to customers.
Disability Awareness campaigner, Mark Watkins also has professional IT experience and is joining the Operations Committee as a customer member.
Stacey Sheldon who was a shared ownership customer has been recruited to add a customer experience perspective to the Board. She is a qualified accountant and brings finance experience to her new role.
Jaedon Green has been appointed as the Chair of Audit & Assurance Committee and will take up the role in September 2024. Jaedon gained his executive experience in the building society sector, but also has housing sector Board experience with Leeds Federated HA.
Nigel Wright will join the Board in September 2024 and bring extensive executive experience in financial and digital services. He also has housing sector Board experience with a number of housing associations.
Stephen Gabriel will also join the Board in September 2024. Stephen will add experience of the local government sector through his role as the CEO of a Midlands council, but also housing sector Board experience with three housing associations in the past.
Ann Bennett, Chair of the Board said: “The diverse range of skills possessed by our new members including IT, finance and governance will greatly benefit us as we strive to achieve our strategic goals. We are confident that they will enhance our knowledge, expertise, and understanding and we look forward to collaborating with them to further develop our organisation”.
We are sorry to say goodbye to two long-standing Board members in September 2024:
Tony Tench has been with us for 7 years and has done a great job in Chairing our Operations Committee. In his day job, Tony is Deputy CEO of Housing21.
Tim Leslie has also served 7 years and has Chaired our Audit and Assurance Committee for two years. Tim has helped us to improve our approach to risk management. Tim retired from his role as CEO of Ofqual in 2019 and is currently Chair of Audit for the Housing Ombudsman.
