We were proud to support the fourteenth year of Gas Safety Week 2024, which ran from 9 – 15 September 2024.

Gas Safety Week is an annual safety week to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances.

The theme for 2024 is ‘Checking - Every Check Counts’, emphasising the importance of, amongst other things, regular gas safety checks and access. We supported the week with a social media campaign to get the message out to customers about the importance of gas safety, including the following:-

·         Introduction to the Gas Safety theme for this year: – Checking – Every Check Counts.

·         Remember to ensure that you have your gas appliances checked in your annual gas safety check, by a Gas Safe engineer.

·         If you’re renting or have tenants, remember, landlords have legal gas safety responsibilities.

·         It’s a legal requirement for gas engineers to be Gas Safe registered. Remember to also check that they are qualified for the work you need doing. Always ask to see their ID card.

·         Help keep your friends and family safe at home by encouraging them to arrange/have an annual gas safety check with a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

·         Raising awareness of Carbon Monoxide (CO), gas leaks, fires and explosions.
