Beginning a new tenancy can be a difficult time, and without full support many people can end up in tough situations.
Wyre Forest Community Housing and Wyre Forest Sheltered Housing (both part of The Community Housing Group) provide extra help and support to new tenants throughout the first year of their tenancy.
After a new tenancy has begun, a Housing Officer will visit the new tenant after the first month, the fourth month, the ninth month and again just before the twelve month anniversary. These visits are designed to enable the Housing Officer to offer support and advice, and signpost the tenant to other services offered by The Community Housing Group, such as Oakleaf Grounds Services and Support24.
Housing Officers will also use these visits as a means of early intervention if necessary, and attempt to prevent any breaches of tenancy terms and conditions. This proactive approach to tenancy management is proving very successful.
