Wyre Forest Sheltered Housing (part of The Community Housing Group) is implementing a new initiative to ensure the wellbeing of their tenants.

Recent changes to gardening services offered to older people in Wyre Forest Sheltered Housing properties has highlighted the fact that an unkempt garden may be a sign for other problems.

Housing Officers have been identifying gardens not being well maintained, as this may be an indication that a tenant is struggling to cope in general.

Visits are being made to those tenants, not to enforce tenancy conditions, but as a welfare check that can lead to appropriate agencies, such as Care & Support24 and Worcestershire TeleCare being contacted if necessary.
