Stay Safe in storms

To help you stay safe and prepared, here are some important tips:

Secure Loose Items
Ensure outdoor items like bins, garden furniture, and plant pots are secured to prevent them from causing damage.

Fencing Repairs
If fencing becomes damaged but is non-hazardous or you can secure it temporarily, please wait to report it during business hours. Note that Community Housing is responsible for fencing only where it backs onto communal pathways or land.

Keep Doors and Windows Shut
Ensure all windows and doors are securely closed to minimise drafts and prevent damage.

 Report Hazards Safely
Avoid areas with fallen trees, damaged power lines, or loose roof tiles. Report life-threatening hazards to emergency services and other urgent risks to our out-of-hours service.

Power Outages
Check your fuse box and confirm with neighbours and your supplier before reporting a power outage, as it may be a known supplier issue or related to damaged power lines.

Gutters and Downpipes
We cannot respond to blocked or overflowing gutters as an emergency. However, if a gutter or downpipe poses a hazard, please contact us immediately.

Fallen trees can be reported to Worcestershire County Council Highways Department  or ring 999 if there is an immediate risk to health.
