On Saturday 30th June, Friends of Cobham Wood attended the Wood to coppice trees and remove evasive shrubs and ferns.

Sixteen local residents were joined by Oakleaf Grounds Service, the Neighbourhood Warden Unit, Vestia Community Trust (all part of The Community Housing Group) and Wyre Forest District Council’s Rangers at the special Tidy Day.

The aim of the day was to encourage the woodland’s bio-diversity, and the group also spent time removing litter and fly tipping from the area. Wyre Forest Community Housing will continue to work with the group to keep the wood free from rubbish and try and prevent further fly tipping in the area.

The ‘Friends of’ Group are currently in the process of funding two information boards to be installed later this year at the entrances to the Wood.
