Protecting Homes for Families Who Need Them
Every stolen tenancy is a stolen chance for a family who needs a safe home. Many people across the UK are waiting for social housing, and many families are living in temporary places while they wait. This means it is more important than ever to keep our homes safe and used in the right way.
International Fraud Awareness Week is running this week from 16–22 November 2025. During this time, the Tenancy Fraud Forum (TFF) is asking people to work together to help stop housing fraud. They want residents, councils and housing providers to understand the issue and feel able to report concerns.
Why It Matters

Housing fraud is when someone lives in a home they should not have, or makes money from it when they don’t have permission. This takes a home away from someone who truly needs it. It also costs the public a lot of money each year. If you need more information, visit www.tenancyfraudforum.org.uk/victim-of-tenancy-fraud
Housing Fraud denies families of a safe, affordable home and lets fraudsters profit at the expense of those who are genuinely in need.
If you suspect housing fraud, you can report this safely and anonymously and it will be treated in strict confidence. Call us on 0300 003 5454.
