Financial Support You Could Be Entitled To

Person at home checking benefits available to save on household bills

Could you be missing out on money support?

With the cost of living still putting pressure on household budgets, we know how important spending and saving are for many households across the UK.

Financial support is not just for people who are out of work. Many people who are working, receiving a pension, or managing health conditions could still qualify for benefits or financial help.

1. Financial support is not just for people out of work

→ Who may be able to claim financial support?

You might be able to get financial help or benefits if you:

  • Work but are on a low income
  • Have health conditions or disabilities
  • Care for someone
  • Receive a pension
  • Have children living at home

Financial support is based on your circumstances, household income and needs, not just employment status. This is why it is always worth checking your benefit entitlement.

2. Pension Credit can increase income

→ What is Pension Credit?

Pension Credit is a UK benefit designed to help older people on a low income.

If you are close to State Pension age or already receiving your pension, you may be able to increase your weekly income.

This extra financial support can help with everyday living costs and may help you qualify for other support schemes.

3. Get help if you are struggling with energy debt or energy bills

4. How the Warm Home Discount helps reduce electricity bills

→ What is the Warm Home Discount Scheme?

The Warm Home Discount is a government scheme that gives a one-off £150 discount on your electricity bill. The discount is applied directly by your energy supplier.

Most eligible households do not need to apply. If you qualify, you should have received a letter confirming this between late October 2025 and January 2026.

5. Cold Weather Payments can help with heating costs

→ What are Cold Weather Payments?

Cold Weather Payments are made to help people on low incomes with extra heating costs during periods of very cold weather.

→ Who qualifies for Cold Weather Payments?
