Colleagues sleep out to support young people facing homelessness

Colleagues from Community Housing spent a night sleeping on the floor at the Property Services depot to raise money for Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop.

The team took part in the “Night on the Floor” challenge, which helps raise awareness of youth homelessness and the challenges some young people face. In total, they raised £517 to support the charity’s work.

Nightstop provides emergency accommodation for young people aged 16–25 who are homeless or at risk of sleeping on the streets. Volunteers offer a safe place to stay, along with a meal and support, giving young people time to find a more permanent solution.

Wyre Forest Community Café and Foodshare supported the event by providing hot snacks on the night. They also donated their fees to the charity, helping to boost the overall fundraising total.

This support will help Nightstop continue to provide safe, short-term accommodation for young people in crisis and prevent them from having to sleep in unsafe places.
